I had my consultation today and it went really well! My favorite part was actually trying on different sizes of breasts to see what they look like “on”.
Surgery is scheduled for August 9th
(That’s only 40 days… the count is on!)

So my corner of the world has been kind of quiet… that’s why I’ve taken to posting my spam
I’ve not really been doing anything, just getting ready to do.
On Friday is my boobie consultation, I’ll let you know how that goes and next Tuesday I’m flying to my Sister’s. From there we will road-trip to our Mom’s… it’s been forever since Sister and I have had a chance to see each other, and we are long over due for that trip to see everyone “back home”…
Plus, I did mention a Road Trip right? Those are always fun (and a consistant source of blogging material)!
I’ve been slightly obcessed with my camera lately thanks to Mel and her flikr photogroup Color My World Daily. The photos are amazing, it inspires me to learn to take better photographs… so I’ve been practicing (and looking a getting a Nikon D80, cause a better camera isn’t such a bad idea either).

Man I’ve been in a grumpy mood for the past couple of days…
and I have no real idea why.
So much for being self aware
Even though I swear I’m the last person to learn them!
After figuring out how to do predictive text on my phone, I finally learned to do *this* with pictures:

Maybe the coffee thing isn’t going so good.
I forgot to empty the pot last night before brewing this morning’s coffee, so I flooded the kitchen counter.
(But he’s been gone since Sunday… and today’s Wednesday, so I think I’m still ahead of the game here)
Funny I used the word “swimmingly” in yesterday’s post though…
Husb had to leave town again for work… on Father’s Day. The kids planned a little get together for him and he did get a chance to hang out with everyone for a while. He’ll be back Thursday night again.
The kids and I have been hanging out, we went out to dinner earlier.
I’ve got a staff out and am working a 15 day stretch… Being exhausted makes the time pass quicker while he’s away ![]()
The coffee thing… in case you are wondering, is working out swimmingly!
Like a simple paper bookmark in a well read book, something as seemingly small as earrings can mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another in a person’s life.
On Friday a woman called about getting her ear lobes pierced and also asked if we were handicapped accessable. Later a woman in a wheelchair came by, her family waiting for her in the car.
She’d had one leg amputated, and I had the distinct feeling she was fairly new at getting back into “life” again after what ever had put her in the chair.
She had told me she lost her ear piercings after a car accident as her earrings were removed and after a lengthly hospital stay the piercings closed. She and her baby boy were in a very serious car accident two years ago, he was unharmed, it was thought she would not pull through… but she did.
Everyone kept telling her how lucky she was to be alive, but she was left with so many physical challenges, it didn’t feel that way to her until I suspect very recently.
As we talked, I’d pointed out how amazing it was that she was taking back something, however small, that she had lost in the accident…
she took back earrings.
Her eyes welled with tears as she said her husband had pointed out the same thing earlier…
but it wasn’t until she looked at her ears in the mirror that she actually felt the power of our observations…
I doubt I’ve ever felt a warmer hug than the one I got after that piercing, and we both expressed how glad we were that our paths had crossed…
I am always in awe at the tiny slivers of intimacy people sometimes allow me to observe.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that when you are expecting a baby (or are close to someone who is), it seems everyone is pregnant. Or you purchase a new car and suddenly you see the same car on every street.
It must be the same with boobies.
Since I’ve made my consultation appointment, there are breasts absolutely everywhere. I’m a big information gatherer, so I’ve shared my plans with a few customers in order to gleen information (OK, maybe more than a few) and many, many women have shared wth me their experiences, advise and breasts… yes their breasts.
I’ve seen more of them in the last weeks than I can count. I’ve looked at scar placements, listened raptly to stories and been invited to squeeze almost every pair…
I know it’s not a baby or a new car… but it’s certainly something!
